I've had a chest cold all week and haven't done a lot of training. Nonetheless, I decided to give the Tapleyville race a go since I had already registered for it. It went a little better than I expected given the cold, which definitely had an effect on my breathing. In even better news, my joints felt fine throughout the race, no pain or stiffness at all. So the conclusion seems to be to do the bulk of my training on the elliptical and restrict the running to not a lot more than 12-15 miles/week.
